ALL ART SHIPPED UNSTRETCHED AND ROLLED ALL ART SHIPPED UNSTRETCHED AND ROLLED

This or That?

This or That?

Everyone has their own style, some have many. I enjoy exploring different styles through my painting. When I started my legends and icons collection I was inspired by the organized chaos of the splatter method coupled with a pop art style. It was fun to create and interesting to look at. Later, still inspired by the legends and icons, I recreated them in a refined black and white style, coupled with a little splash of color to add a touch of whimsy. Each style is unique and the paint method and colors make a huge difference on the same subjects. That is part of the beauty I find in art, everyone can look at a subject and see it differently. One subject can be created in an infinite amount of ways. Which is your favorite?

Portrait Work

Portrait Work

I know I talk a lot about portrait work, but it is because I am so passionate about it. I love when art is personal, the emotional connection makes it that much more valuable. Besides being personal it is also ONE OF A KIND. I've watched it bring so much joy to my clients over the coarse of my career and I love to be a part of that joy, to immortalize a memory it is truly meaningful for my clients and for me as well. At this point in my career I just want my art to spread joy and that is what custom portraits accomplish.

Pet Portraits

Pet Portraits

I often talk about family portraits, but I do not want to neglect our fur family. Today, I want to highlight my pet portrait work that I have been doing. When our beloved family dog, Sugarbaby, passed away it was a devastating loss to our family. Creating a portrait of him was a beautiful way to honor him, first for me to work through my grief, but also for my family who cherish the painting as a daily reminder that his love still remains. I know first hand how special a bond with a pet can be, and how sad it is that our time together is so limited. Cherish the moments together, and let the memories live on forever. A oil painting of a treasured pet is truly a memorable way to celebrate and honor our furry family.

Original or Giclee?

Original or Giclee?

At Gallery Mavruk we offer both Originals and Giclees. However, I have realized that many people are confused by the difference, so I can break it down in terms of my art.

My Original paintings are done all completely by hand using either Oil Paint or Acrylic. There is only one original that can ever exist which is what makes it valuable.

The Giclee can not exist without first having the original painting. Giclee is a a French term that means "to spray". They are created on large printers using thousands of sprays to create a high quality that looks as close to the original as possible. We always create them on canvas.

Personally, as an artist I always want to add my own touch so all of my giclees are hand embellished. What this means, is that I go over the giclee print with paint and add more to enhances which makes the giclee, also one of a kind.

Again, I am defining these in terms of my art and how I work.

Originals are always a great investment, and art collectors prefer originals for the value. Giclees are much more affordable and are just as high quality. It really is a matter of preference, whether you buy for the investment or as decor, what matters is that you enjoy the art.
